GERD : Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), gastric reflux disease, or acid reflux disease is a chronic symptom of mucosal damage caused by stomach acid coming up from the stomach into the esophagus The treatments for GERD include lifestyle modifications, medications, and possibly surgery. Initial treatment is frequently with a proton-pump inhibitor such as omeprazole.
Phenothiazines,Narcotics,Barbiturates,General anaesthetics,Antihistamines,MAO inhibitors & antidepressants:Alprazolam potentiates the CNS depressant effects of these drugs. Cimetidine and Disulfiram:Diminished hepatic metabolism of alprazolam, increasing its plasma level. Haloperidol:Benzodiazepines may decrease serum levels of halopreidol. Digoxin:Plasma levels of digoxin may increase. Rifampin:The effects of alprazolam may decrease with use of rifampin. Theophylline:May increase the sedative effects of alprazolam.
