Drug Dose Information

Usual Adult Dose for Dyspepsia:

500 to 600 mg orally 4 to 6 times a day as needed, between meals and at bedtime.

Usual Adult Dose for Duodenal Ulcer:
500 to 1500 mg orally 4 to 6 times a day as needed, between meals and at bedtime.

Usual Adult Dose for Erosive Esophagitis:
500 to 1500 mg orally 4 to 6 times a day as needed, between meals and at bedtime.

Usual Adult Dose for Gastric Ulcer:
500 to 1500 mg orally 4 to 6 times a day as needed, between meals and at bedtime.

Usual Adult Dose for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease:
500 to 1500 mg orally 4 to 6 times a day as needed, between meals and at bedtime.

Usual Adult Dose for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome:
500 to 3600 mg orally 4 to 6 times a day as needed, between meals and at bedtime.

Usual Adult Dose for Hyperphosphatemia:
500 to 1000 mg orally 4 times a day, with meals and at bedtime. The dosage should be titrated to the serum phosphate level.

Impaired renal function and renal dialysis

Fluid restriction

Gastrointestinal disorders associated with decreased bowel motility or obstruction

How To Take

Aluminum hydroxide is usually taken between meals or at bedtime.

Storage

Store protected from moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Do not freeze Gel.

Hypophosphataemia Undiagnosed gastrointestinal or rectal bleeding Appendicitis Porphyria Hypersensitivity to aluminium salts

Atazanavir : antacids possibly reduce plasma concentration of atazanavir. Azithromycin : antacids reduce absorption of azithromycin. Bile Acids : antacids possibly reduce absorption of bile acids. Bisphosphonates : antacids reduce absorption of bisphosphonates. Captopril : Antacids reduce absorption of captopril. Cefaclor : Antacids reduce absorption of cefaclor. Cefpodoxime : Antacids reduce absorption of cefpodoxime. Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine : Antacids reduce absorption of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. Ciprofloxacin : Antacids reduce absorption of ciprofloxacin. Deflazacort : Antacids reduce absorption of deflazacort. Diflunisal : Antacids reduce absorption of diflunisal. Digoxin : Antacids possibly reduce absorption of digoxin.
